The doctoral dissertation was discussed at the Faculty of Medicine / University of Kufa. Nawal Abid Hashim, the student from the department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics tagged her thesis as (Protection from Trastuzumab induced cardiotoxicity in patients with breast cancer). The study aimed to evaluate the potential protective effect of CoQ10 against cardiotoxicity induced by trastuzumab treatment in patients with EGF positive breast cancer from epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-.The results of the study showed that the use of CoQ10 provides protection against trastuzumab- induced toxicity by reducing inflammatory biomarkers (MCP-1, IL-6, sTLR4), and cardiac enzyme (Bnp, cTnI), and ejection fraction (ECHO, MUGA) which produced by the use of trastuzumab treatment.
