The doctoral dissertation was discussed at the Faculty of Medicine / University of Kufa. Saba Fathi Abd- Alrazaq, the student from the department of Physiology tagged her thesis as (Association of bone morphogenetic protein signaling 7; IL.6; hepcidin and iron deficiency with the class of heart failure). The study, which was conducted at Al-Hussein Teaching Hospital in Karbala during the period from February 20, 2021 to August 16, 2022, included the participation of 80 patients diagnosed with heart failure compared with 80 healthy individuals as a control group. The study aimed to determine the extent of the association of IL-6, and the protein that makes up the seventh bone BMP7 and iron deficiency, and hepcidin with the types of heart failure. The results showed that there is a close association between IL- 6, hepcidin and BMP7 with heart failure, which opens the door for further research on the possibility of using these results as a biomarker to predict heart failure.
