A doctoral thesis was discussed at the Faculty of Medicine / University of Kufa. Ali Shafeeq Neamah, the student from department of pathology and forensic medicine tagged his thesis as [ Molecular and Immunohistochemical study of PDL – 1 in papillary thyroid carcinoma ( clinic – pathological study)]. The study aimed to demonstrate the importance of programmed cell death protein 1 in papillary thyroid carcinoma through immunohistochemical analysis. Where the results showed that the percentage of histochemical immunohistochemical expression for programmed cell death protein 1 was recorded in 53% of the sample size. It has also been proven that there is a correlation between the results of the genetic analysis of the PD-l gene and the levels of thyroglobulin in the serum of patients undergoing radioactive iodine isotope treatment in nuclear medical centers.
