A master’s thesis was discussed at the Faculty of Medicine / University of Kufa. Saba Sahib Younis, the student from department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics tagged her thesis as (The effect of JQ1 and NHWD-870 in renal ischemia reperfusion injury rat model role of PI3K / AKT). The study revealed that the serum levels of urea, creatinine, and renal tissue levels with respect to P_AKT, PI3K, IL1B, TNF alpha, caspase_3, F2 isoprostane, FOXO4, and MIF were significantly elevated in the renal ischemia group compared to the sham group. Histopathological analysis of kidney tissue showed severe renal injury in the reference group. The results also showed that there is an important role for JQ1, NHWD-870 treatment in alleviating this injury by reducing serum levels of urea and creatinine and renal tissue levels of IL1B, TNF alpha, caspase 3, F2 isoprostane, FOXO4 and MIF except for PAKT, PI3K and BCL_2 which were significantly higher compared to the reference group. Also, treatment with JQ1, NHWD-870 significantly reduced the histopathological severity of renal tissue damage.
