Introduction: Mucormycosis is an angioinvasive rapidly progressive opportunistic fungal infection due to environmental fungi of the order Mucorales. Depending on the clinical presentation it is classified as rhinocerebral, pulmonary, cutaneous, gastrointestinal, disseminated and other. In most cases, there exist underlying conditions that predispose the hosts to the infection.more
