A master thesis was discussed at the Faculty of Medicine / University of Kufa. Maryam Abdul-Razzaq Al-Issa , the student from department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, tagged her thesis as (The potential nephroprotective effect of Serelaxin against renal ischemia reperfusion injury in rats through targeting TLR signaling pathway). The study aims to investigate the Reno protective effect of Serelaxin in renal ischemia reperfusion injury in rat model. The results showed that the Serelaxin reduced the kidney damage induced by renal ischemia and re-perfusion. This effect achieved by the reducing of the inflammatory response by inhibition of the TLR2 and TLR4 signaling pathway, and that result from it of reduction in the levels of inflammatory mediators (MCP-1, IL-1 beta, and HMGB1). In addition to its anti-oxidant and anti-apoptotic effects.
