Head’s word

 The department of physiology and medical physics is one of the most important basic science departments in faculty of medicine. It participates for the graduation of medical students to be qualified doctors able to do their important humanism job based on their scientific knowledge. Moreover this department grows up the thinking process and research abilities for the students.  

Vision
Physiology and medical physics department vision is to reinforce the integration between basic medical sciences with clinical sciences. Also, to confirm that medical physiology is essential base for other medical sciences of different specialties.

Mission
Our mission is to provide the medical students with required knowledge and skills which help them to understand the normal physiology of human body organs and relate these normal mechanisms to pathological mechanisms in diseased organs. General idea about some of clinical and physiological examinations is also provided. Moreover, the department continues to achieve more medical and clinical researches through its postgraduate programmes (MSc. And PhD) held in the department.

Objectives:
Physiology and medical physics department aims to achieve its mission via:
1)The participation in teaching of different modules within the new integrated curriculum where all the department’s staff are involved.
2)Subject the students to hospital environment within the first semester through medical physics module where they can have information about the physical principles of some diagnostic and therapeutic techniques.
3)Provide an opportunity for students to have detailed information abbot the physiological measurements through selective module run by the department.
4)The continuous achievements of scientific researches and aim to publish them in high quality journals.
5)The continuous development of postgraduate curriculum and encourage the students to involve in practical scientific research that meet our community needs.
