Meeting in the Faculty of Medicine on the topic of academic plagiarism for postgraduate students

The Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs at the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Dhafer Sahib Jawad and the Director of the Graduate Studies Unit, Dr. Raaed Mohammad Kadhim met with the postgraduate students (PhD, MA, Higher Diploma). The meeting included discussions on several axes, foremost of which was the issue of plagiarism and copyright. Dr. Jawad explained the concept of plagiarism or (arrogating scientific experiments and their results), which was approved by the Council of the Faculty of Medicine. The Director of the Graduate Studies Unit on the other hand stressed the need for communication between the students and the Unit; he asked them to provide the Unit a monthly report that includes their scientific achievements as well as obstacles that may face them for the purpose of overcoming them. Besides, the Director of the unit urged the postgraduate students to communicate with the Internet Unit at the Faculty for the purpose of establishing an e-mail and activating the virtual library account according to the directives of the university. The meeting was attended by Prof. Abdul-Hussein Raishan, the Director of Quality Unit.
